Call These Five Key Offices:

If any of the above Assembly members and Senators are your representatives, please remind them at the beginning of the call.

“Hi, my name is ______. **Insert here if you’re a constituent.** I’m calling to urge you to reject the proposed cuts to the In-Home Supportive Services, Medi-cal and Housing and Homelessness program in the 2025-26 state budget.

Cutting or de-investing in these programs, especially for undocumented older adults, would be devastating and negligent.

We urge you to:

  1. Reject these harmful cuts to IHSS, Medi-Cal, housing, food, and immigrant support programs;

  2. Draw more from state reserves to avoid cutting core services, reserves exist for times like these. With over $15.7 billion in reserves, California has the ability to close the shortfall without placing the burden on seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income families;

  3. Reject the Governor’s proposal to expand the costly film tax credit, doubling this tax break to $750 million annually while cutting vital safety net services is indefensible.

  4. Ensure sustainable revenue by closing corporate tax loopholes and scrutinizing costly, inequitable tax breaks. One of the state’s largest corporate tax loopholes allows companies to stash profits in offshore tax havens, costing over $3 billion annually. We cannot continue to protect corporate profits while slashing the services that working people rely on.

These cuts won’t fix the budget, but they will break the promises we’ve made to care for our most vulnerable Californians, the State’s goal of building and preserving 1.2 million homes for low-income families and protecting IHSS workers who devote their lives to the care of others. Please oppose the Governor's FY 25-26 budget. Thank you.”
