SOMCAN is a founding member of the Transit Justice Coalition, formed in 2018 to advocate for equitable changes to the municipal transportation system. Our collective demands include:

  • Free and reduced bus fares

  • 100% on-time performance

  • Equitable service to underserved neighborhoods

  • Equitable service for seniors and people with disabilities

  • Living wages for transit workers

  • No private buses on red lanes

  • Community engagement and accountability

In 2020, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency projects fares to increase once again. Single-way cash fares will go up to $3, while the monthly Adult A pass rises to $102.
